The Stateline Fury's 16U team brought home a new trophy for the program's collection - the 2016 USSSA national tournament championship.
The Fury's development club program has allowed players from across the area to improve when not in high school competition. Schools from Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin are represented, with a mix of new talent to the Fury and seasoned veterans who have grown in the program for five years or more.
"It's really special," says rising Hononegah senior Meagan Matuska. "It's even better because it's with these girls and we've worked so hard for it and we're lucky to have each other."
"I can bond with my teammates and get to know them while playing against them sometimes," says rising Belvidere North senior Bailey Neiber. "It was awesome because this is one of the first national championships we've won."
