The Rockford Country Club hosted the first round of the 90th Annual Rockford Women's City Classic golf tournament on Monday with eight players advancing to the championship match play bracket that begins on Tuesday. The semifinals take place on Thursday, with the finals scheduled for Friday.
Rising Harlem senior Carson Racich carded an 82 on Monday and is the bracket's #1 seed, facing #8 seed Kristen Sayyalinh.
Hui Chong Dofflemyer advances to match play as the #2 seed in the field with an 82, and will play #7 seed Katelyn Sayyalinh.
Rising Boylan senior Jesse Slattery completed a first-round 84, the third best score of the day. Her match play opponent is Lindsey Noble.
Boylan graduate and Indiana Wesleyan golfer Maggie Kaiser scored an 87 in Round 1 and will compete against Linda Smith in match play.
