A project to clean up the Ellis Heights Neighborhood is back.
Project 1013 plans to transform one of Rockford's poorest neighborhoods. New this year, it's partnering with the Church School Neighborhood Association to work on more than 300 projects over four days.
Volunteers led by Rock Church will be cleaning and brightening up Ellis Heights starting Wednesday until Saturday.
"We've expanded from 3 blocks to 6 to 12 to 24," Pastor Jared Katke said. "And no one wants to do work for it to go back, so sustainability was a main objective of ours."
This is the seventh year that Project 1013 has been helping the Ellis Heights Neighborhood.
