Two young men are recovering after being shot just after midnight.
At around 12:30 a.m. Rockford Police responded to the 900 block of N. Central Ave. in reference to shots being fired.
On arrival to the area Officers did located a 23-year-old male suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital by Rockford Fire.
While on scene a 19-year-old male was dropped off at Rockford Memorial Hospital with a life threatening gunshot wound. Police say he's now stable and will likely survive.
Officers believe both victims were shot in the 900 block of N. Central Ave. People were gathered in that area at the time, police say, but it's unclear why or if gunfire rang out during a party.
This is an on-going investigation. There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.
