Forest City Comicon brings comic fanatics from across the country to Rockford
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
Many artists, writers and comic characters all united together on Sunday.
Hundreds of people came through the 2nd annual Forest City Comicon, or FC3, in Rockford over the weekend.
Growing from last year, local vendors, as well as distributors from all over the country, came out to show off their work and meet fellow comic-book lovers.
With all of the local talent and comic book stores in the area, organizers said they saw a need for a convention in Rockford.
"Coming out of the backrooms and the basements, and kind of making it mainstream, it helps a lot of people who want to express themselves in a different way," said Randy Powell of Black Heart Comics, which organized FC3.
Organizers hope to continue growing Forest City Comicon every year.
