Rockford native and Boylan alumnus Dean Lowry is familiar to the green and gold as a former Titan, and will return to that color scheme in the NFL. Lowry became the 137th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, taken by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round.
Lowry was part of back-to-back 14-0 seasons at Boylan during his high school career. The Titans won the 6A and 7A football state championships during his junior and senior campaigns.
He spent his college football career just down I-90 from his hometown at Northwestern, and contributed to two 10-win seasons for the Wildcats, solidifying himself as a force for Pat Fitzgerald's defense. Lowry amassed 52 tackles as a senior, 13.5 of those for a loss. He also had three sacks in his final season in Evanston.
The Packers had two compensatory picks in the fourth round, and used one of them to select the Rockford product.
