Lockwood Park celebrates Easter with its Cottontail Trail egg hunt
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
Many area families spent their Saturday hunting for Easter eggs at Lockwood Park.
People came to Lockwood Park Saturday for their Cottontail Trail Easter egg hunt.
After that, kids had plenty of activities to choose from, including the animal barn, a scavenger hunt and musical performances. Lockwood Park's pony and wagon rides were also open to enjoy, as well as game and Easter crafts.
"We changed it up from just a regular egg hunt where all the kids are running and grabbing the eggs in 5, 10, 15 minutes, to an actual event where they have a section that they can go and parents can walk in the egg hunt with them," said Debbie Ackerman, the manager of Lockwood Park.
Event organizers said with the beautiful weather, they had a great turnout, with more than 4,000 people coming throughout the day.
