Rauner says he will support "whoever voters choose, including Trump"
SPRINGFIELD (WREX) -
Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner is finally weighing in on the current presidential race after months of avoiding questions on nominees and support.
When asked if he would support Donald Trump if the billionaire made the nomination, Rauner said he would show support. Rauner clarified his statement, saying he would support "whoever the voters choose, including Trump."
However, Rauner declined to discuss the candidates on an individual level. The comments came from Rauner's first public statements since last week's election, where Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump won the presidential primaries in Illinois.
