Auburn finishes 4th down state

The Auburn Knights' magical playoff run through March ended on the final day of the boys basketball season in Peoria. Auburn finished 4th in the IHSA's 4A bracket, falling 83-55 to Simeon of Chicago in Saturday's consolation game.

Auburn's valiant effort in the state semifinals fell short in a 55-53 loss to Chicago Curie on Friday, setting up Saturday's third-place game entry. Devon Richardson scored 15 points off the bench against the Wolverines, while senior captain Tray Tyler added 8 points for the Knights.

Auburn finishes the 2015-2016 season with a 25-8 record and will return to Rockford on Sunday for a pep rally at the high school.
