The high school basketball playoffs are in full swing in the Northern Illinois region, with a packed schedule of games on Monday night.

Lexi DeVries paced Byron with 21 points and 6 rebounds. They will face Camp Point (Central) Co-Op on Friday at Illinois State at approximately 8:15 PM in the state semifinals.

The 3-A sectional semifinals in the girls bracket featured two Rockford teams playing in Rochelle. Boylan defeated St. Francis from Wheaton, 55-33. McKenzie Brown contributed 13 points for the Lady Titans, who will be appearing in their third straight sectional final. They will face Burlington Central, who defeated Rockford Lutheran, 51-39. The Lady Rockets were led by Sam Pryor's 19 points. The Lady Crusaders trimmed what was a 17-point deficit to start the fourth quarter down to 7, thanks to a late rally, but fell short of a comeback.
