Rockford Police respond to armed robbery on city's west side


Rockford Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened around 6:20 p.m. Monday on the city's west side.

Two adult men were walking west of Sherman Avenue near N. Sunset Avenue when a gold 1990's style Buick 4-door car, with right front bumper damage, made a U-turn and pulled up beside the men, according to police. A white man armed with a silver revolver and a black man with a semi-automatic handgun left the car and told the victims to empty their pockets. They took valuables and when the suspects got into the car to leave the white man fired one shot into the air.

Suspect #1 - W/M, 5'10", 17-20 years old, gray hooded sweatshirt with hood up, blue jeans, clean shaven, light brown hair, armed with silver revolver

Suspect #2 - B/M, 5'8", unknown age, black hooded sweatshirt with red/gray designs on front with hood up, black ski mask, black jeans

Suspect #3 (driver) - Unknown description

Suspect vehicle - Gold, 1990's style boxy Buick, front right bumper damage, light tinted windows.
