Texas Sen. Ted Cruz says the "Washington establishment" he loves to rail against is abandoning Sen. Marco Rubio and coalescing behind Donald Trump.
And Cruz says he welcomes that.
Cruz told reporters before a campaign rally in New Hampshire on Wednesday that Washington insiders have determined Rubio can't win and are now backing Trump.
His comments come the day after Sarah Palin endorsed Trump and Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad said he hoped Cruz would be defeated in Iowa.
Cruz says his campaign raised $700,000 after the Branstad anti-endorsement, a sign Cruz says shows true conservatives are uniting behind his campaign.
Cruz says Trump is winning support from Washington insiders because they believe the billionaire businessman is "willing to keep the gravy train going" to cut deals and grow government.
