Local organizations are brewing up an event to showcase the history of craft beer.
The Burpee Museum is partnering with Kryptonite bar owner, Chris Wachowiak and Forest City Brewers for Feb-brew-ary. It's a beer festival that will have beer tasting, presentations on the history of brewing and live music.
Organizers say this is part of a continued effort to bring more events downtown.
"The interesting thing about doing events and when events are happening downtown you just see this energy, with the headlights running through and people having dinner before or after," Wachowiak said.
Feb-brew-ary will also showcase an ice lounge and a bourbon bar and cigar lounge.
Parking shuttles will be running all night along with cab service from Forest City Cab & Uber Events.
The event will be on Saturday Feb. 27 at the Burpee Museum. Tickets are $50 and limited to 400 guests. They can be purchased from Kryptonite Bar, Burpee Museum or online at kryptonitebar.com.
