Harlem boys bowling wins regional title


The Harlem Huskies boys bowling team captured this year's regional title on their home turf, winning the championship at Forest Hills Lanes.

Reigning individual state champion Jacob Nimtz posted a 1510 score to pace the Huskies, who advance to next week's sectionals.

Other advancing teams include reigning IHSA state champion Hononegah, Freeport, and Auburn. Indians junior Brandon Mooney is the individual regional champion, scoring a 1530.

Other advancing individuals include East's Mitchell Le, Brandon Bunch, and Alex Wilson. Guilford's Daniel Simmonds and Alex Livingston are going to sectionals, and will be joined by Alex Shaver and Hunter Loveridge of Jefferson. Lutheran's Aleksander Zajchowski, Boylan's Matt Fleege, and South Beloit's Bailey Binder also punched sectional tickets.
