SwedishAmerican Health System's Regional Cancer Center released its annual report on cancer treatments.
About 900 new cancer patients were diagnosed in 2014. That's about 100 more than the year before.
SwedishAmerican is partnering with UW health to give cancer patients oral chemotherapy. SwedishAmerican said this is unique because patients can take the oral chemo at home and pharmacists can still monitor their health
"The pharmacist is the one who monitors the patient when they are at home taking their medication and making sure they are actually taking it correctly," Regional Cancer Center Director, Diane Scoville said.
SwedishAmerican treated 91,000 cancer patients at its center in the 2014 calendar year.
