The Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating their 90th anniversary, and paid their annual visit to Rockford's BMO Harris Bank Center on Sunday.
The Globetrotters were founded in Chicago in the 1920's, and have been entertaining basketball fans ever since with their signature blend of hoops and high jinks. They played in front of a packed house in the Forest City, and fans enjoyed the afternoon to wrap up the holiday weekend.
"I've known about the Harlem Globetrotters ever since I was little," said Michael Davis, a fan attending his first ever Globetrotters game with his family. "I've always wanted to go. The opportunity came up, I'm here with my son and wife and we're having a good time. It's so amazing for him to see this. He loves basketball. To see these guys do tricks, it makes him want to learn to play the game the right way and learn these tricks so he's excited."
