The Harlem Globetrotters are getting ready for their 90th season of basketball and they're coming to Rockford later this month.
A couple of Globetrotters stopped by the 13 WREX studio to show off a few tricks. They say they are excited to start a new season and to visit Rockford again.
"Being part of this brand and wearing this uniform, I wear it with a lot of pride. You walk into a school and kids go nuts. You walk into an arena and the kids go nuts. You walk into a hospital and be able to get kids to smile who probably haven't smiled in a couple of weeks because of their illnesses and whatnot. It's a great feeling," said "Buckets" Blakes.
"One of my things after my dunks they play a little bit of salsa. I love to pick up a little kid and do some salsa moves with them. People love that. That's the part I love the most is making people smile," said "El Gato" Melendez.
The Globetrotters play at the BMO on December 27.
