The main lesson for her students is teaching them to have fun while getting the job done, but she says it's not all about work.
She has a different way to teach times tables. It's a "blender" of them in Linda Larsen's 6th grade class. She's been a teaching for 35 years and says she's living out her passion.
"When I was a 2nd grader I wanted to become a teacher," she says.
But she says even if this wasn't her dream job, Rockford's Cathedral Baptist School is still an amazing place to be all year.
"It's just a joy, and this is a wonderful place to come to work to everyday" Larsen says. "You know, you get up in the morning and you've got good friends with you all day long."
Not to mention the group of students she has this year.
"These 6th graders are really nice kids, they're just wonderful," she says. "I love them."
Those wonderful kids have a lot of questions for her.
"If something comes up, we can pray to God about it, and I can help these children realize that there's more to life than just work, they're serving God," she says.
And she says it's her religion and her students that make her cherish every day.
"God has certainly blessed my life."
