They said the tanker rolled over and caught on fire. It was carrying 48,000 pounds of dry lyme.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The left and center lanes on I-90W are closed and the left shoulder of the eastbound lanes are closed while the crash site is cleaned up.
The Cherry Valley Fire Department is responding to a wreck involving a semi on Interstate 90 West at mile marker 13.
It is where Spring Creek Road crosses over the interstate.
A dispatcher with the Cherry Valley Fire Protection District said they sent an engine, squad and ambulance to the scene.
There are reports of at least one person injured.
Lanes are being blocked off during the crash investigation in both the east and westbound lanes.
Be careful if you are headed that way.
