ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Friday night around 11:45 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 600 block of Alliance Avenue in reference to an aggravated discharge of a firearm complaint.

Upon arrival, the officers spoke with a 48-year-old woman who lives in the area. She told police there were several people in her home when they heard gunshots in their area

Police say she saw a white unknown make or model vehicle traveling west on Fairview Avenue driving very fast. Then she found out her house had been hit by gunfire.

Witnesses in the area saw an unidentified black male wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood and black pants running east on Fairview Avenue. The unknown suspect then got into a white unknown make or model 4-door vehicle on the passenger side and fled west on Fairview Avenue.

Officers found multiple shell casings in the 600 block of Alliance Avenue on the sidewalk.

No one was hurt in the shooting. No arrests have been made. Police say this incident is still under investigation.
