Job training opportunities coming to Midtown & Ellis Heights neighborhoods
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
Three Rockford organizations are teaming up to help people get and keep jobs.
The United Way along with Workforce Development and the Rockford Rescue Mission will hold job training workshops for residents in the Midtown and Ellis Heights neighborhoods. Residents can receive training on communication skills and problem solving. Once they get a job, the organizations will help them keep it.
"The goal is to help the participants find solid employment and give them a pathway on the road to self-sufficiency," says Freeport Housing Authority CEO Larry Williams.
Training starts in October at the Rockford Rescue Mission's main campus.
