Wisconsin now home to North America's biggest pumpkin
Cedarburg (WKOW) -- Wisconsin is now home to the biggest pumpkin in North America.
The pumpkin was weighed at the Cedarburg Wine and Harvest Festival this weekend. It came in at more than 2,000 pounds!
Gene McMullen grew the pumpkin, and it wasn't his first record-breaker. He actually broke his own record!
He says there's no secret to his success. “Lucky. Dumb luck,” said McMullen. “Accident waiting for it to happen. It happened. I don't do anything different than any other growers do.” But it was a goal in the making. “I guess this is what I’ve always dreamed of."
Last year his pumpkin came in at about 1,600 pounds.
