UPDATE: The 43-year-old man who was riding his bike, was hit by an alleged drunk driver and died has been identified by the Rock County Medical Examiner's Department as Mario Esquivel-Flores of Beloit, Wisconsin. Investigators say Flores died from injuries sustained in the collision. According to police, the bike did not have lights on it and Flores was riding in the road when he was hit. The driver who allegedly hit him, Brett Hundley, had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash and police say Hundley's blood alcohol count was over the legal limit.
The City of Beloit Police Department and the Rock County Medical Examiner's Department are still investigating this death.
A 29-year-old Clinton man is facing charges after police say he hit a bicyclist with his car.
Brett R. Hundley is in the Rock County Jail, facing charges of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle. Beloit police say Hundley was driving drunk and hit an unidentified 43-year-old man who was riding a bike before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Milwaukee Road. The bicyclist was headed east, it's unclear which direction Hundley was driving. The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital where he died. Police say Hundley was drinking alcohol prior to the crash and was over the legal limit when the incident happened. Hundley stayed on the scene and was cooperative, police say. He completed a breathalyzer test, but the results of that test have not been released. Hundley will be in court on Monday. His bond has not been set.
Beloit police are investigating after a car hits a person.
Officers say the incident happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Milwaukee Road. Information is limited at this time. A car allegedly hit an unidentified man.
