Keith Country Day student Kaitlyn Miller died unexpectedly in 2007 after a skiing accident. Since then, her family has made sure that her name lives on at the Rockford school, maintaining a memorial scholarship in her name. Friday's 8th Annual Golf Outing named after Kaitlyn helps feed proceeds to that scholarship for future students.
The Miller family, friends, and colleagues gathered at Swanhills Golf Course for a round of 18 that featured a ceremonial drive on the 10th hole by Kaitlyn's father Bob, and a red balloon release. For the 13 Sports Authority's full story that you'll only see on WREX.com, click on the above video.
