The all-time leading rusher in Green Bay Packers history, and a recent inductee into the team's Hall of Fame, is visiting Rockford this weekend with his foundation.
Ahman Green spent time at Rockford Health System's pediatric and cancer units before hosting a fundraising dinner Friday evening, followed by a charity softball event at Sportscore One on Saturday. His father and stepfather both died from cancer, so his visit to RMH was extremely meaningful for the former NFL star running back.
"Cancer doesn't see green and gold, blue and orange. It attacks a victim. It's not discriminating, it hits kids and adults, white and black, it doesn't matter. I'm here to help out with families and bring a smile to their face for the day."
