The Golden Apple Foundation hosted its seventh annual golf outing at Rockford Country Club on Monday, a fundraiser for the education-focused organization. A feature of the event was a 17th hole "Best Drive" promotion that included Reid Anderson and Adam Norwood of Hononegah, and Harrison Engelbrecht of Boylan acting as guest drivers for the golfers participating in the outing.
"It's wonderful. All these teachers out here for the Golden Apple, they help us out in school everyday, they're always there for us. It's nice to be here for them," said Norwood.
Just 15 minutes north, Macktown Golf Course hosted the Junior Classic Tournament that brought together the best young golfers in the region, including Carson Racich and Jessie Slattery in the girls groupings.
