Four people are injured after being shot in Rockford over the weekend.
A 20-year-old was shot on Friday on Rockford's west side. Police responded to the 1800 block of Elm Street around 10:30 p.m. The Rockford man was shot in his right thigh. He was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Saturday morning around 3 a.m. a 16-year-old male went to the emergency room after being shot on Rockford's east side. Police say he was walking home from a friend's house on Easton Parkway and Alpine Park Drive when a man approached him, didn't say anything and shot at him three times. He was hit once in the leg.
The third incident happened about 20 minutes after that. The man that was shot was also walking home from a friend's house. Police say the incident happened in the 1100 block of 21st Avenue. The 38-year-old victim was approached by a man who demanded money from him. The suspect pulled out a gun and shot him once in the groin then ran. The victim is said to be OK.
The final shooting over the weekend caused a 22-year-old to be in critical but stable condition as of Monday morning. Around 9:45 Sunday night police responded to the 1100 block of 13th Street. Police say the victim was conscious when they arrived but was shot in the left wrist and left back/shoulder area.
