Task force concludes investigation into Rockford officer-involved shooting
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
The Winnebago-Boone County Task Force has completed its investigation into the deadly Rockford Police officer-involved shooting.
Back in May, officers responded to a welfare check at a home on 16th Avenue in Rockford. There, investigators say, 41-year-old Mark Farrar fired a semi-automatic rifle at officers, who returned fire, killing Farrar.
The State's Attorney's office will now begin to review the investigation. Once that review is finished, a decision will be made regarding any potential criminal charges.
