The National Alliance on Mental Illness hosts 'Golf, Grill and Chill'


The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Northern Illinois, or NAMI is holding a fundraiser event at Timber Pointe Golf Club. 'Golf, Grill and Chill' is a golf day and tailgate party on Sept. 17th with all proceeds benefiting NAMI.

The full event costs $75 per person, and includes a golf cart, 2 drink tickets, food on the course and access to the tailgate party following the golf play. Attendees can choose to only attend the tailgate party, which costs $25 per person.

 Both parts of the event will be at Timber Pointe Golf Club, located at 5750 Woodstock Road in Poplar Grove.

Registration for the golf portion of the event starts at 1 p.m. The tailgate party will begin immediately after the end of play.

The tailgate party will feature food, beverages, music by Bun E. Carlos and the Pagans, and the kick-off of the Thursday night NFL game on large screen TV's. Golfers and tailgaters are encouraged to wear their favorite NFL gear for the event.
