Rockford Police to host fundraiser to support Special Olympics athletes
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
The Rockford Police Department, in collaboration with the Special Olympics of Illinois, other regional law enforcement and Texas Roadhouse are hosting the annual Tip-a-Cop fundraiser to support the athletes of the Special Olympics. The event will be July 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse at 7240 Walton Street in Rockford.
The benefit features a free lunch served by law enforcement officers and other volunteers. The meal includes a pulled pork sandwich, corn, fresh baked bread with honey cinnamon butter and a non-alcoholic beverage.
During the event officers and volunteers will be offering a raffle for a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and a Jeep Wrangler. All tips and donations will be given to the Special Olympics.
