The Chicago/Rockford International Airport will be well represented at EAA Airventure Oshkosh.
Airport Operations manager Zach Oakley leaves for the Oshkosh fly-in, Thursday along with a maintenance technician to meet with the FAA and pilots on safety issues.
However, Oakley says several local airport tenants are already there with tents and booths to drum up some additional business.
"Usually the majority of them end up going to Oshkosh, and representing their companies, because it is the largest gathering of aviation enthusiasts and aviation businesses, probably around the world," Oakley says.
Oakley says pilots flying to and from Oshkosh are using RFD as a place to land and refuel.
