Rockford Chamber of Commerce turns 105

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a special birthday.

The chamber turned 105 today.  They held a special Founders' Day celebration for chamber members. Two local businesses and long time chamber members were also inducted to the Northern Illinois Business Hall of Fame.  The law firm of WilliamsMcMarthy as well as the Rockford Register Star were inducted.

"It's a fun one for us this one is a little more casual that we do, and it's something that we want to do and celebrate our birthday," says chamber President & CEO Einar Forsman.  "You want to be mindful of being 105-years-old and the long established organization that does things for the community to support the business environment.  "At the same time we look forward as how we can continue to be better and serve our members and serve the community better."

The event was hosted at the newly renovated Blanche Walker Burpee Center.
