Strong storms possible across region today

Saturday will start off with mostly cloudy and dry weather. Southerly winds will increase to 10 mph through the day, ushering in more humidity. Highs top out at the low 80s in the afternoon.

By the late afternoon, the first of 3 rounds of thunderstorms is expected. The Saturday afternoon round will be scattered, so not all areas will see rain. Lightning, some heavy rain, and gusty winds are possible, so if you hear thunder, head inside.

Saturday night will feature round 2 of thunderstorm activity.  This round will last into early Sunday morning.  Heavy rainfall with this round may result in flash flooding, so be alert and remember, do not drive into flooded roads! Strong winds are possible as well.

After the early morning storms, the rest of Sunday will be dry, but hot and humid. Highs reach the upper 80s, and with the humidity, it will feel like the 90's.  The sky clears to partly cloudy during the afternoon.

Sunday night into early Monday features the 3rd round of thunderstorms. This round is the one we'll have to watch the closest for severe weather. Severe winds are possible, in addition to flooding rain.

With all thunderstorms, remember to head inside until the storm passes, and check in with 13 News through the weekend for updates.
