The YMCA of Rock River Valley is holding its own intern competition.
The intern challenge is back for its fourth season. The organization started with 21 interns split into three teams. Now there are only two teams left. This week they sorted through local properties and selected the top three they think Zenith Standard Holdings should invest in.
Organizers hope the program gives interns real world experience.
"Well the whole idea is to give these young people reality as to the real world and work," says YMCA Rock River Valley CEO and President. "We want them to learn what Rockford has to offer. All of our winners at this point from the last four years all have full time jobs back here in Rockford."
The YMCA says this is the most interns they have ever had compete in the challenge
