Former coroner indicted for failing to bury fetuses
MCHENRY COUNTY (WREX) -
A former McHenry County coroner is indicted over charges she failed to bury two fetuses.
This is the second time Marlene Lantz has been indicted for allegedly not burying a baby. The most recent indictment is for two fetuses found in the morgue after Lantz retired in 2012.
The first indictment was for another fetus found in her office in January. The 68-year-old pleaded not guilty in the first indictment. Her attorney says he hasn't seen the newer indictment. Lantz worked in the coroner's office for more than three decades.
