FREEPORT (WREX) -
Union Dairy is celebrating 101 years of service in Freeport. And now, the popular place wants to prove it is more than just a sweet spot.
Union Dairy serves more than 50 different flavors of ice cream that rotate throughout the day depending on what is in most demand and still left in stock.
Being a Freeport tradition, Union Dairy always is looking for ways to give back to the community that gives so generously to them. This summer, Union Dairy is hosing family friendly movie nights. This past Friday, they played the Lego Movie.
The first Friday of June, July and August Union Dairy welcomes the community to a free movie in the park.
"People can come and bring their lawn chairs or blankets; get some ice cream and a hot dog and then enjoy the outdoor park with a movie," says Jodi Miller, co-owner and manager of Union Dairy.
This coming Saturday, Union Dairy is also hosting Cruising For a Cause car show. All proceeds of the event are going to Freeport's Lions Club.
