ROCHELLE (WREX) -
The American Red Cross out of Illinois is moving operations to help communities affected by the path of tornadoes Thursday night. Both volunteers and staff are working with local law enforcement and county officials to assess needs following the string of storms in Dekalb and Ogle Counties. In addition, volunteers are in the process of opening a shelter in Rochelle.
A list of open shelters is updated regularly at www.redcross.org/nss. Available shelters can also be found by downloading the free Red Cross Tornado App which also allows users to monitor weather reports. According to the Red Cross, the Tornado App, can be found in the Apple ITunes Store and the Google Play Store for Andriod phones.
