Former Belvidere sub charged with sex crimes in another school district
BELVIDERE (WREX) -
A former substitute teacher for Belvidere Schools is under investigation for sex crimes against children in DeKalb.
Andrew Arison was arrested on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving minors. Authorities said the charges stem from a March 11 incident that happened while he was teaching at Huntley Middle School.
Once Arison's arrest was reported by local media last week, Belvidere school administrators said they removed him from their substitute list.
District 100 officials said Arison worked on six occasions between August and November of 14 at three of its schools: Lincoln, Meehan and Washington.
Belvidere officials said they also launched an internal investigation and found no evidence any misconduct with minors took place with District 100 students.
