Beloit mother sentenced to prison for sexually exploiting her children
Monday, March 2, 2015 5:22 PM EST
JANESVILLE (WREX) -
A Beloit mother has been sentenced to serve time in prison for sexually exploiting her children.
According to Perry Folts, the Rock County Deputy District Attorney, 42-year-old Tonya M. Smith, was sentenced Monday in court.
Folts said Smith pleaded guilty to three counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child. Smith could have faced up to 120 years in prison based on the charges.
The judge ordered Smith to serve 30 years in prison followed by 15 years of extended supervision, according to Folts.
Folts said Smith would allow men who came to her home to engage in sex acts with her two daughters, now ages 17 and 11, and her now 13-year-old son.
The incidents happened between November 2013 and April 2014, according to Folts, who said Smith moved to Beloit from Missouri in 2011.
Prosecutors asked the judge to consider the Failure to Protect a Child charges during the sentencing.
