ROCKFORD (WREX) -
Every four minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer the Rock River Valley Blood Center hopes you can be a part of the cure.
Thursday the center held a "Be The Match" registration drive at Rock Valley College. The registry has connected more than 60,000 patients with a life-saving marrow donor. Doctors say younger donors are ideal.
"Be The Match is a registry that connects patients that are suffering from blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma to donors that could save their life," said Kaitlin Kretz, Rock River Valley Blood Center.
If you are interested in becoming a donor you can register online with the Rock River Valley Blood Center.
