BELVIDERE (WREX) -
People who took a test drive at a Belvidere car dealership were able to help the homeless with a big check.
Carpenter's Place, which provides services to homeless men and women, is getting nearly $5,000 from Manley Belvidere Ford-Lincoln as part of its Driven-to-Give promotion.
"Our real focus is on rebuilding the lives of the homeless, taking them from the streets to stability. So when they become stable and become productive members of our community, they're giving back. So really, there's a great return on investment," said Kay Larrick Carpenter's Place Executive Director.
The goal of Carpenter's Place is to provide skills to the homeless to become self sufficient.
