Eighty-four high school seniors in Rockford Public Schools have been named 2015-16 Illinois State Scholars for their academic achievements.
In general, the distinction is awarded to the top 10 percent of graduates from high schools across the state. These students perform in the top half of their high school class, and/or score in the 95th percentile on the ACT, SAT or Prairie State Achievement Exam.
"This is a prestigious recognition from the state, and we're proud of our students who have earned this distinction," said Deputy Superintendent Matt Vosberg. "It takes a lot of hard work and commitment from these students, their families, teachers and staff to achieve this recognition. We're looking forward to celebrating these students' success."
