Santa paid a special visit to more than 100 kids this morning all thanks to a local fire department.
It's an emergency!! Toys were left on Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve, and he missed some loves park kids!!
But don't worry, the fire department is here to save the day!!
Eight trucks full of presents and firefighters go door to door to make sure everyone has a good Christmas morning.
"These guys are probably the greatest group of firefighters a chief could work with, and they give up their Christmas morning to go out and make little kids smile," Loves Park Fire Chief Phil Foley says.
Smiles are all around, but also tears of joy.
Especially from Nicole Clarke, a mom, who says she didn't know if she would be able to check everything off her kids' lists.
"I wasn't expecting what we got today, for sure, very blessed," she says. "It helps us a lot because we couldn't afford a lot this year."
Her son Conner hopes Santa brought him Legos.
"Is that your Christmas cut?" Santa asked Conner. "It looks good!"
But Nicole says whatever is in that bag, he will be excited for, and she can't thank the fire department enough.
"It shows that they help, you know?" Nicole says "I don't know, it's just awesome to see that they help their community."
Doing exactly what Chief Foley hoped for.
"He's probably going to have a really big smile on his face, because he wasn't expecting it at all," she says.
The Loves Park Fire Department has been bringing Christmas cheer to families for more than 30 years.
