Students at West Middle School will stay warm this winter thanks to the Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Rockford Health System works closely with West as was as Conklin and Welsh elementary schools to provide the hats and gloves.
West Middle School staff say the colder weather can sneak up on the students.
"Well, a lot of our students aren't prepared for winter. Some of them forget to be prepared for winter. And with their walking to school and the hours they may spend ont eh bus, we want them to have warm hands and a thankful heart," says Lori Beach, a teacher a West Middle School.
The hospital auxiliary donated the warm clothing to a total of 1,600 students.
