Washington Academy students team up with Fiat-Chrysler
BELVIDERE (WREX) -
The people designing and building the cars of the future might be at Washington Academy in Belvidere.
The academy is teaming up with Fiat-Chrysler to create the program called Engineers of Tomorrow.
The program introduces third grade students to the auto manufacturer to design a car made of every day recycled material.
"I've always liked to work with kids and to be able to do that again with my busy schedule and incorporated that with my job, I couldn't ask for a better situation," says Derek Barrone of the Chrysler Assembly Plant.
Judging and racing the cars will take place Thursday.
