Stroll on State increases business for some State Street businesses
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
Sixty-thousand people were strolling the streets of downtown Rockford this weekend during the second annual Stroll on State.
This year's organizers say twice as many people came out as last year.
Several businesses located on State say they saw sales triple compared to a normal Saturday night.
"Seeing that large of a crowd come, seeing lines for Santa, seeing lines for the horse and wagon rides, pretty much from the start all the way until 4 p.m., all the way until the evening at 9 p.m., really showcases how eager people were to be a part of a great, new tradition in downtown Rockford," says RACVB Director of Market and Public Affairs Josh Albrecht.
