With Election Day now less than two weeks away, the Winnebago County Clerk's Office is testing its voting machines.
Workers tested the AccuVote and TSX touch screen machines today in a public event at the county administration building today. Everyone who votes wants to have their voice heard in this year's election, and the county clerk, Margie Mullins, says she recognizes that importance.
"Every machine has a memory card in it, and we want to make sure that memory card is working properly. So when the machinery gets out to the polling location on Election Day, that they are able to get it up and we can start voting right at 6 a.m. when the polls open," she said.
It is unclear if the machines are all working properly following the tests.
