Imagine running into your third grade teacher and finding out that she kept one of the pictures you made for her.
That would happen if you had Ms. Caroline Wright at Maud Johnson Elementary when you were 8, and that's just one of the reasons she's our Teacher of the Week.
"I still have all the pictures that you made for me," Wright says.
Those are from students who graduated from her class in 2006. She says she keeps everything that her students have made for her because of the bond she has with them.
"I like to connect with the students, the parents. I'm basically more than the teacher. I like them to be able to come back, share experiences with me, tell me what they're doing in the future, what their dreams are."
And the principal of Maud Johnson says they do because she truly cares about them.
"It's a great thing to have her be such a caring individual. She really, especially bonds with some of our kids who struggle in school. She gives them someone that they can talk to, almost like a counselor," Principal Amber Miller says.
Lukais nominated Wright this week. he says she's the best teacher he's had.
"She's a wonderful teacher, she gives us homework passes and Fun Friday."
And his classmates agree.
