The Board of Trustees for the Rockford Public Library have offered Lynn Stainbrook the job as executive director.
Stainbrook was one of four finalists for the position.
She is the current director of the Brown County Library in Green Bay, Wis., where she oversees eight branch libraries, 130 staff and an annual budget of more than $7 million. She has previously worked as the executive librarian at the Arlington Heights Library.
Stainbrook has a master's degree in library science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a Janesville native.
The board expects to approve a contract with Stainbrook at its next meeting on Oct. 27.
