Because of the Rockford community's generosity, hundred of students will be able to take part in sports and gym class.
Annie's Locker stopped by King Elementary School to deliver hundreds of gym shoes to low income and homeless elementary students.
The organization was able to meet its goal of collecting more than 900 pairs of shoes.
"So much help in the Rockford community — through the churches, through private donors, people buying shoes and sending them to us. It was an amazing event. And we're happy, happy, happy it turned out so well," says Terri Odell, vice president of operations at Annie's Locker.
Annie's Locker organizers hope these shoes will not only put kids back in gym, but keep them active.
